Healthy Ways to Increase Your Productivity

By September 30, 2020No Comments

There are many things people do throughout the day that can make it hard for your mind and body to function optimally. Even when you try to limit your hours spent sedentary, modern times have us stressed and working in places that are less than ideal for our health.

And that stress that you feel can start to affect you in a number of ways, putting you at risk of disease or even musculoskeletal disorders. Regular visits to the chiropractor can help you relieve the effects of stress on your spine and body, but it will only be reversed if you don’t change your lifestyle.

If you create healthy habits, then you will be able to be more productive at home or wherever you are. Here are some ways to do just that:

Set Up a Routine

When you have a routine, you will find a natural rhythm to your day that isn’t restrictive. Rather, you will be able to navigate your mornings with more ease. For example, you might decide on calisthenics for 10 minutes in the morning before looking at your phone or doing some yoga. Select something that will help you with relieving stress.

Focus on Nutrition

Nutrition and hydration serve as fuel for the body. If you eat poorly and are constantly dehydrated, you are going to feel a thousand times worse than you would if you ate energizing, wholesome meals and got plenty of water. Increase productivity by cutting junk from your diet.

Also, try to limit the days where the amount of food you consume goes beyond “cheat meal” philosophy. Overeating too often will change the way your body deals with food, and you may find yourself gaining weight or feeling sluggish. If you eat and eat and never feel fool, you should try adding more protein to your diet or, if certain hormonal imbalances run in your family, seeing a medical professional.

Get a Little Sweaty

Okay, maybe you don’t have to do a full workout every 45 minutes or so, but you should set some movement reminders on your phone or download an app to tell you when to get up and move around a bit. You can take short walks around the building, go up and down on the steps, or even head out to a nearby park for some fresh air.

Find Balance

Work is not life, and vice versa. You need to find balance. Now that most people are doing at least some work from home, it could be hard to draw a line in the sand. If finding balance in your life means scheduling daily breaks away from all electronic devices, then that is what you do. You could, for instance, sign up for an outdoor yoga class or visit the chiropractor.

Don’t forget to remind your friends and family to do the same thing. Devoting a little time to yourself is one of the best medicines for low productivity around. Once you get back from spending some quality time with yourself, you will feel much more motivated.

Hopefully, these times to increase your productivity will work for you. Even simple changes can lead to bigger, more positive things happening in your life.
